PostHeaderIcon What is the meaning of my dream?

Browse the site to learn more about how to buy a used truck, trucks sell, used trucks for sale, antique fire trucks and more

Some background. I bought a horse trailer from my parents. In that I have all my sound gear in it, I call it the "Music Box".

I dreamt that I was in my grandma's house (she passed on Thanksgiving Day last year). I was looking out the dining room window at the music box that was outback. Suddanly a fire broke out and the front of the trailer was burned. It seemed to take forever for the fire dept to show up. Somehow my Dad was able to pull it out to the side yard with his truck. With the fire, part of the floor had burned away and I had lost my main speakers. Every thing else had smoke and water damage. The insurance company took care of things. I told them how I wanted it painted, they told me they could only make it in pre-fire condition.

I want it to match my truck. Right now, the red paint is peeling over the blue base paint and doesn't look real pretty. I woke up at 2:30 thinking did this realy happen?

PostHeaderIcon What does property damage on car insurance cover?

We recently had a freak accident, my husbands truck caught on fire while we were driving it. Thank god no one got hurt, but I am wondering what the property damage covers on the insurance policy because all of my husbands tools literally got burnt, I mean really bad metal hammers and drills and a latter all together probably 500 dollars worth which is not a big deal we can go buy them, im just wondering why they wont cover this. Also my sons car seat was burnt, again not a big deal at least he is ok, but I just want to understand a little better.

PostHeaderIcon How come all these companies get away with screwing the customer every time? From warranties to insurance….?

Im sick and tired of all these big companies screwing me every chance they can. Im going to give a lot of examples...
1. Car insurance -- My black fire bird got hit in the quarter panel, made a dent all around the fuel door. The lady who hit mes insurance company's paying to fix it, but only to bump and paint that panel. Now my paint is not going to match. They might as well paint the panel red... If the paint all matched before shouldn't they paint the whole car? This is my summer Cruiser I want it to look good!

2. Detroit Edison - We have a huge tree in our yard next to our shed, also next to power lines that are in IMMENENT danger from this tree that is about to fall. Its leaning at a 45 degree angle and you can see the roots pulling from the ground. It wasent like that last week. We called them and they sent out kappen tree service (does all there tree work around here). They said they will only trim back the branches back far enough from the power lines so it dosent hurt them. They will also be tearing the new lawn all up driving there big truck back there... They left a HUGE mess last time they trimmed a tree in our yard, and left half the tree that we had to deal with... thats another story. This is going to screw up not only the yard, but also our shed, every thing in it, all the lawn mowers and a couple motorcycles by it, tons of stuff. AND the power and cable to a ton of houses north of us. They refuse to cut the whole tree down, called numorus times... They will not take the whole tree down, so we told them fine well you cant trim my tree. So they are not doing anything, they would rather let the tree hit the power lines then take the tree down. So a big FU to them.

3. Mattress Warehouse (Miller rd. Flint Michigan) -- So this burns my a** more than a waist high fire. I bought a 0.00 mattress with a 5 year warrentie. Less than one year later I have two big dips in the mattress, so bad that the cats seek that spot to lay in now. I was told by the swindling salesman that if any dips in the mattress, call him and we will get me a new mattress no charge. The thing about the warrentie (that i paid for) that he dident tell me is that if there were any stains on the mattress it voids the warrentie. I just got screwed. (I am filing a small claims suit on them. Im not taking that crap!

4. Microsoft Xbox red ring problem -- I dont even want to get into it... but I will... Lets just say 1-800-4my-xbox is microsofts bean counters direct line. There one red light problem and there three red light problem are both caused by over heating because they are poorly designed. They had such a problem they extended the 1 year warrentie for the 3 light problem to 3 years... But if only one red light shows up too bad for you, the warrentie doesnt cover it then. ITS THE SAME FREAKING THING! Well the bean counter (over in iraq or pakastan or what not) took 4 hours of my life away on the phone over a week of numorous calls getting the run around, talking with the supervisor bean counter, calling back in three days, the this and that, then the rude jerk, then the hanging up on me..... AGGHHH BASTURD BEAN COUNTERS!!! Ill bet you 5 thousand bucks that the Xbox live automatic forced update (internet) makes the three red lights only show up as one red light. That way your screwed. Why else did the one red light problem show up after they extended the warrentie?

All these were just last week!!! Am I just having a bad week, or does every big company really screw everyone? Isent the Attorney General and the BBB and other big paid goverment companys SUPPOSE to do things about this? Is that not why such organizations exsist? Are they all just getting paid off by these companies? Hmmm that seems very plausable...

Oh heres one more... Two years ago my parents went to the wedding of the son of there home insurance agent, and long time (childhood) friend of my mothers. While they were at the reception sitting at the table of the agent and all her friends whom are ins. agents, my dad asked agent1 what to do about the tree limb that just fell on the gazebo (very nice wooden gazebo hand made by my dad) asked if he should make a claim. Three other agents at the table said at the same time "Dont do it, they will probally cancel you" WTF! Long time customers paying there insurance every month, never made a claim, finally needs to file a small claim to fix a peice of insurred property and they threaten to cancel there insurance.... This makes me want to burn every insurance company down to the ground, see if they get canceled....

Why dosent anybody do anything about all these shady warrenties and insurance policys. They all have "clauses" and hidden terms in there fine print designed by bean counters and lawers to screw you "the customer" out of your hard earned money!!! They are NOT there to protect your investments thats for sure!

PostHeaderIcon Can I make my loser husband pay me?

My sorry, fat husband got an insurance check last week because his ratty truck caught fire trying to haul his *** around. He weighs over 400 pounds and went and bought himself a tiny little sports car that he has to squeeze in and out of -- he looks ridiculous. He has to roll out onto the ground when he gets out like an old fat dog or something. I hate him. Anyway, I suspect he got way more money that he told me he did and he's hoarding it somewhere. I looked in his room today and found ten McDonald hamburger wrappers under his bed. I don't give him enough money to be wasting on food so I know he has it hidden somewhere. Can I force him to give it to me? I'm his wife and since i don't work I feel like I'm in entitled to any extra money that comes into this house. How do i get it from him before he wastes it all on food and beer?

PostHeaderIcon What do you think of Hiring Joe Legal versus Hiring Jose Illegal!!!?

Here is an example of why hiring illegal aliens is not economically productive for the State of California ...You have 2 families..."Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California . "Joe Legal" works in construction, has a Social Security Number, and makes .00 per hour with payroll taxes deducted.... "Jose Illegal" also works in construction, has "NO" Social Security Number, and gets paid .00 cash "under the table".

Joe Legal....00 per hour x 40 hours 00.00 per week, ,000 per year Now take 30% away for state federal tax. Joe Legal now has ,231.00.

Jose Illegal....00 per hour x 40 hours 0.00 per week, ,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes... Jose Illegal now has ,200.00

Joe Legal pays Medical and Dental Insurance with limited coverage 00.00 per month [,000.00 per year]. Joe Legal now has ,231.00.

Jose Illegal has full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of {content}.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has ,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money is not eligible for Food Stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays for food. ,000.00 per month [,000.00 per year]. Joe Legal now has $ 7,231.00

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare. Jose Illegal still has ,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent. ,000.00 per month [,000.00 per year]. Joe Legal is now in the hole minus (-) ,769.00.

Jose Illegal receives a 0 per month Federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays rent. 0.00 per month (section 8 housing). ,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has ,200.00.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family (and eat out!).

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored breakfast & lunch, and they also qualify to be "bused to school" at tax payer expense.

Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children have to find a way to get to school and go home after school as, "latch-key kids" with no adult supervision.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Jose Illegal can send most of his money back home to build a new home for retirement, and have money to buy a new truck (and still have Medi-Cal benefits while living in a foreign country; until someone turns him in to authorities....if they ever find out!!)

Joe will be lucky if he has any money for retirement, a new vehicle, medical/dental benefits, or a place to live.

I have done the math, all you have to do is to look at it yourself. Don't hire illegal aliens.....Don't vote for any politician that supports illegal aliens.....And most important of all, write your politicians and let them know how you feel

PS: You forgot, Jose illegal's wife claims "single, no head of Household" and collects additional benefits that Joe legal's wife cannot claim.

No wonder our country is in trouble!! Think about it!

PostHeaderIcon I own a house but I do not live in it, my parents do. There was a small fire at the house and they called the?

local fire department (royal metro a contract fire dept) They came and brought eleven trucks! One truck is almost as big as the house by itself, they only used the one truck but are charging me for all eleven (,000 hr= 11k!) Is this legal? Is there anything I can do because they are suing me? Also, my insurance company only paid a small amount ( not even enough to fix the damage) because they said it was not my primary residence? Any information on this is appreciated, this is all so screwed up!

PostHeaderIcon My neighbored called and said my truck was smoking….he popped the hood…extinguished the small fire at t?

fuse area. I have now found out the truck had a ford recall on this model that starts fires. I just bought it 4 months ago from a private party. Didnt know about the recall. If the damage is bad enough, who is responsible....insurance company or ford???? I ahev full coverage, but 1000 deductible.

PostHeaderIcon A question about comprehensive insurance?

I have comprehensive insurance that covers fires. My engine caught fire this morning and it started around the battery. I think it was a really old battery and might have been time to get a new one. So could they blame the accident on me for not buying a new battery???? And then not cover the damage???

PostHeaderIcon My 2003 Audi A3 Caught Fire : Insurance/Audi?

I loved my A3, I got it last summer and had owned it for approximatly one and a half years. I bought it from a main audi dealer, with a years warrenty ect. When it needed servicing I got it serviced by audi, any work that needed doing I had done. It had only done around 62,000 miles and was not due for another service.

On wednesday, the car was handling fine. It wasent making any strange noises. There were no strange smells and the car seemed to be in perfect Condition.

On my way home from work, after approximatly 5 mins of driving I was exiting a roundabout at around 20-25mph when white smoke started pouring from the front heating vents that heat the windscreen.

Quite alarmed by this I pull over on the sliproad to the a130. I turn the engine off and put the hazard lights on. My first thought was to call the RAC, thinking that the best thing to do would be to get it towed...

While I was looking for the number, the smoke started to turn black, so I imediatly rang for the fire brigade. While I was on the phone to them, small yellow flames quickly became very big yellow flames.

The fire eventually must have burned through the handbreak and the car started to roll back down the hill and if the wheels had not have been turned could quite easilly have taken out a police car!

I should hear from my insurance company soon. If they dont offer me enough to get something similar (not really sure if I want another a3 now!!) I'm not really sure what i'll do. Does anyone have any advice for me? Do I have a leg to stand on with audi (car was out of warrenty by about 6 months)

I mean, owning a 5 year old car you expect the odd "unexpected" bill for a part or whatever. What you do not expect is for your "quality car" to burst into flames for absolutly no reason whatsoever.

Has anyone else had anything similar to this happen to them? Has anyone heard of this happening to anyone??

If the insurance dont give me what I would call "fair market value" what other options do I have? Can you ask for an identicle replacement instead? (or as close to as possible)

Since the car was out of warrenty, do I have a legal leg to stand on if I want to seek some kind of compensation/money off a new car from audi!?

PostHeaderIcon Bought used truck that caught on fire while parked in drive. Any recourse?

I purchased a used truck from lot 2 weeks ago. It caught on fire in the middle of the night while parked in drive with keys out of ignition. Needless to say it is a total loss. I only had PLPD insurance. Is there anyway to get refund from dealer. It was sold as is. We have no idea how the fire started. It did start in the engine compartment.

PostHeaderIcon My husband is being selfish and wants to buy TOYS while we have bills and baby on the way! HELP?

My husband has a Project Ford Maverick in the garage. He has not driven it and it has been sitting there since 2007 in our garage.
Yesterday we had a Garage fire and the Auto Insurance company is paying us for the damage done to the car.
We are getting about 4K back. However I told my husband, Why don't we pay off our Credit cards because with me losing my job in October and a Baby coming, Having no debt would be great.

His response is, I want to buy an engine, and all these fancy car parts when the Car been SITTING for 2 years!

As sorry as I am that this happened, I am upset at my husband for being selfish. Advice.
I think splitting it would be a great Idea.
My husband is a Great Husband and this was his car before we met. I understand that he has a great emotional attachment to this car.

But I also know that putting money towards that car will not get us closer to being out of debt. We did sit down and talked after we argued. He realized he was wrong and felt bad. I did to.

PostHeaderIcon What is the most reliable car that is the least likely to get stolen?

I see Civic cropping up a lot on other's questions, but I know it's high on the theft list. I've been driving a Saturn SC3, but it's burning oil and I need something reliable. And I've noticed that Kia's are dissed but my brother owns a Spectra and he can just plow that little car through snow when my little Saturn always gets stuck. I am looking at options. I make an hour, so the sky is not really the limit. I am looking for a car that makes good economical sense and will probably buy it used certified if and when either my other debts are paid off or my cars engine catches on fire and the insurance company writes me a check. I'm just tired of running to have my car worked on 3 times a year for whatever random thing happens to go wrong.

PostHeaderIcon Fire trucks for tailgates and parades?

In Texas, what drivers license do you need to operate a pumper fire truck. Also, if it is an older model (1970's or later) what insurance do you need and is it expensive? Also, to allow people to ride on it, do you need some sort of special registration, this vehicle would only be used once every couple of weeks or so, and would only drive a limited distance (less than 2 miles). Thanks for your help
