Curious if I have a case against a negligent landlord. Here’s the details: We moved into a rental house. Within a few days, we had PG&E come out and show us how to use the pilot light on heater. He said the gas heater was never cleaned in 50 years. He cleaned it as much [...]

I need to build a bridge across a 20′ wide stream.
My idea is to use 30′ utility poles, 2+2 where vehicle tires would be, and rough saw 2x? decking.
It is for a driveway so it must support things like the oil delivery truck and (God forbid) fire trucks.
I have available 6 slightly used poles. There [...]

I’m from Indiana.
Some weird laws here are:
In Gary, it is illegal to attend the theater within four hours of eating garlic.
Hotel sheets must be exactly 99 inches long and 81 inches wide.
Drinking from your own bottle in a bar can lead to your arrest.
(Here is one I break all the time) No barefoot minors [...]

A few years ago, our neighbors took a petition around the neighborhood wanting to ban controlled burning around the hills. Their reasons were, to stop the smell of smoke, to reduce pollution and to stop the ashes from getting into the swimming pools and clogging the filters. Now, after a few years of [...]

About 15 or so years ago I went into work over 2 hours late, I just over slept. I figured I’d be a little creative with my excuse the usual "flat tire" has been done to death and I lived near the airport, so I laid this one on the assistant foreman.
I walked into work [...]

Every year we give 19 billion in foreign aid. For them to do with what they please and no strings attached. Seems to me that we should put a stipulation on that money. If that money is to be used for things such as infrastructure, food and such, they should be made to buy any [...]

I noticed this in Florida, especially, but it seems like more and more lately, fire trucks and ambulances roam around without their sirens on, or just sit parked on the outskirts of grocery store parking lots, seemingly being watchdogs for the police. I’ve also noticed them put on their sirens and blast and blare their [...]

Punch in cheap m-80 sized explosive devices onto trees 10 feet high with a custom pole nail gun.(3 seconds per tree at various intervals). Use a sound detector tower(above tree line) every 10 square miles with solar power charger.
When forest fire erupts, devices go boom, sound detector can track direction and approximate distance. Fire [...]
