I have a 2008 Acura TL, how do I find out if it's included in the recall. According to recalls information possible engine fire and wiper blades could stop working. I bought the car used from an independent dealership, would I still get a letter from Honda. I don't have an Acura near me, or any number I can call? Any help, thanks.

about a month ago i had an engine fire. most of the harness was wiped out. as most know these are not sold after market or from dealer. I got one from a chevy pick up. i also used the idle air control, map sensor, maf sensor and throttle position sensor. i am not sure if they are the same or not. the truck drove fine except for a clogged injector before fire. i just bought the beast. im getting the kinks out. i was driving it and about 30 miles after its started racing idle was 1500-2000 rpms and shift points are 3500 exactly everytime. im guessing the computer calculated the readings from either bad or wrong sensors. do any of these sensors tell the tranny when to shift. im guessing tps might. or should i look at either vacuum or possible a missed melted wire behind engine. the tranny was overfilled and took out the extra fluid and brought it down to normal operating level.
i did grab the ecm but my truck already had on in another location. im guessing mounted on the distributor because i didnt have one on the map,maf bracket .

I came across a KB blower for real cheap! The only problem is it was part of an engine fire. The seller says he believes it can be rebuilt as any seller would say. I contacted KB and they said they would need to look at it in person to know for sure. should i buy it and take the chance? anyone every heard of something like this happening?

I bought a car that is a survivor of an engine fire. Honestly, the block is pretty good shape. However, of course all of the wires, cables, hoses etc. are shot. I need to get going on the work and can find harnesses from the same year vehicle but diffeent trans. type. Also, would a wire harness from a turbo model work on a N/A engine?

I've received an offer to install an engine fire extinguisher for a helicopter, and the main gas it uses is Argon, does anyone know about this gas if it can be used for aviation?

If you suffer an engine fire, you close the thrust lever, cut off the fuel control to the affected engine, pull the fire handler outwards and if the fire warning is still displayed on EICAS, rotate the fire handler.

If the fire warning goes off EICAS, does that mean the fire has been put out and if yes, is it safe to restart the affected engine?

Also, if you have a fire in your cargo forward or aft hold, and you press the discharge switch for the cargo hold, will the fire be put out or does it require human intervention (i.e: somebody using a fire extinguisher)?

cuz i got places to go...and my bike is messed up...and wont hold up any longer...my hole crank just fell apart earlier...i fixed it
but it wont hold up...it might for maybe like 5 miles max...but i ride my bike like 10 miles a day...and my pedal is cracking in half
so can i? or not...if not what can i do then? i need a car really badly
and am willing to do anything

I watched the film 'Memphis Belle' today and the B-17 had an engine fire and went into a fast dive to put the fire out. How would this work? I thought the oxygen would aid the fire.
