I’ve been having a hell of a time with this es300. I got it in the beginning of march 2009, and since then have had to have the water pump and timing belt and gasket replaced, and then recently, I ran out of gas on the highway and the fuel pump went.
The day the fuel [...]

I’m basically car engine illiterate, so I apologize if this is a stupid question. I drive a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. A few days ago I spilled a little bit of oil as I was adding some. It resulted in a small fire as the engine was hot. Instinctively, I threw flour on the fire [...]

I purchased a used truck from lot 2 weeks ago. It caught on fire in the middle of the night while parked in drive with keys out of ignition. Needless to say it is a total loss. I only had PLPD insurance. Is there anyway to get refund from dealer. It was sold as is. [...]

Do you think the short block of a GM Vortec engine be worth attempting to use at all after a severe engine compartment fire?
The truck was a total loss, the fire basically burnt itself out. I’m just wondering about the internal engine components.

I recently had a fire in the engine compartment in my 1982 El Camino Conquista, and it basically destroyed that whole area. Is it even possible to replace all the electrical in that area and replace the engine for a reasonable price?

I have looked almost everywhere don’t find it in the engine compartment, I cleaned the coils and all wiring and inspected, but it still shorts out and drops half my engine out at times until I stop turn key off and restart. I want to replace the transistor used to fire the coils out with [...]
