If you are using a mobile device, not an Iphone, but a device with limited connection to the internet Opera would be best. It works on all platforms but excels beyond other in mobile devices.
Firefox is great on all platforms but does the best job on Linux or Unix systems. If you are big into social networking sites you might want to try Flock, a side project of Firefox developed to aid in social networking.
Many people say Opera is the fastest on windows systems but I think Internet Explorer six, the one before the update with tab browsing is fastest on windows. The tabbed Internet Explorer is fast but not as fast with tabbs as FireFox is.
I don’t use any apple products but my friends say Safari is the best on Macintosh followed by Firefox.
Since browsers are big deals on the internet just search any of the browsers on a search engine like Google if you want more information on a specific product.
To sum it up their isn’t a large difference in speeds, tenths of seconds, but if you are a heavy internet user you might want to take the previous advice. If you are not a heavy user than you should pick one you like and use that. Speed is not the factor you should base you internet browser usage on. You should look at compatibility with you O.S., overall appearance, how technical you are going to be and how many features you want.

Well, to start Firefox isn’t a search engine is it a browser.. but I would suggest, dogpile for a search engine.. it has all of them combined.
