I had a dream about the Devil and Fire. What does it mean?

A few months ago I had a dream that I was in a book store with a friend. The store was quite small and contained older books; it wasn't a modern book store, though I remember it was well lit and was not scary or omniscient in any way. As we browsed we discovered that the devil was standing in a nearby aisle. As we noticed, everyone else in the store did as well. Suddenly I found my self alone with the devil in the store, except for the cashier. Everyone had managed to escape but me and they were waiting just outside the clear glass door of the store. He was wearing a black cloak with the hood drawn over his face, however he did raise his head to look at me and when he did so, I was able to see his face. His face was somehow absent of all human characteristics though extraordinarily evil and grotesque. He had slits for eyes with noting filling the slits but blackness. His skin was pale and peeling of something far too disgusting to be comparable to human flesh. He appeared truly evil. Though I do not remember shopping for anything in particular, I discovered that I was holding the Bible and felt the urge to buy the BIble. The need and desire to make it to the front counter and actually purchase the book was very great and caused me to feel very panicked at the thought of not being able to do so. I remember walking toward the counter; I do not remember if I actually purchased the Bible.

The very next night I had a dream that I was riding in a single cab truck with 2 or three men, and I had no idea where we were going. The men did not resemble anyone that I recognized and did not say a word to me. We finally slowed to a stop and got out of the truck in the middle of an vast empty field. I discovered that there were a little under a dozen other similar trucks all forming a circle with a bonfire in the center. I was very confused and unsure about why I was there, as were the others in the field. Suddenly, more people appeared and handed us barrels of gasoline. We were told to soak the ground surrounding the trucks with the gasoline completely; no gaps whatsoever. We all did so in silence. I remember knowing what was going to happen and having this sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach because I knew that I was going to die and that I was contributing to my own death. I was unwillingly committing suicide and aiding those around me in their attempts. Once the task was completed a single match was lit, and the surrounding area was ablaze. I do not remember anything past that point.

What do these dreams mean? I am a Christian, though I do not go to any one church on a regular basis. These dreams startled me like no other dream ever has.

"For God does speak—now one way, now another—
though man may not perceive it.

In a dream, in a vision of the night,
when deep sleep falls on men
as they slumber in their beds,

he may speak in their ears
    and terrify them with warnings,

    to turn man from wrongdoing
    and keep him from pride,

to preserve his soul from the pit,
his life from perishing by the sword. "

    Job 33:14-18 NIV

I had a dream where I was chased down by a pack of homeless Elvis impersonaters in Legoland, what’s your point?

Dreams don’t mean anything, they’re just dreams.

Friend, I can share with you several strange dreams I had since I became Christian, but you will have to email me personally..

I can tell you certain dreams would come about and its interpretation and meaning you will encounter in God’s appointed time. Usually, the person who dreamed, well know its meaning enough… as he or she moves along with his faith. Take for example, the dream that Peter had with the sheet full of animals. He never quite understood it after the moment Peter received the dream or the vision. But as God sent men to Peter to introduce to them the Christ and lay-on hands on them, he realised the connection of the dream and the animals representing the Gentiles…that Salvation has come to the Gentiles also, when Jesus said to Peter.."Arise…kill and eat…what I have made clean, thou cannot call unclean….and so on

maybe God is showing you something, or maybe it is Satan messing with you, hes known to do that, fire is another thing, it is said in the bible when God ends sin, including the person who caused it Satan he will be thrown into the lake fo fire along with any other person whos name is not written in the book of life. I hope your name is in the book of life,. pray about this, ask God to tell you what the dream means, Daniel who was thrown into the lions den could interpret dreams and so could Joseph, he was king of Egypt after the pharoah died, he knew when egypt and various places would go through a drought or famine.

There is but One Presence and One Power in my life, and in the
whole Universe, God the Good, Omnipotent.

The dreams mean that the images fed to you as a child were accepted
at the time. You have not de throned them as yet. When you were a child and thought like a child. Now as an adult it is ok to abandon
those childish thoughts to reality. The only Power Is Good.
