How to converting 120VAC to 12VDC to use an old firetruck siren?
My dad was just getting rid of an old 1970 fire truck and I took the old sounding wind-up siren off of it. I was wondering if there was any way to power it using household 120V AC.
Thanks.

You need to buy a 12 volt power supply to power the siren. It will plug into your house outlets. Make sure it has enough current capacity to power the siren. The siren will take quite a bit of current. It’s been a long time since I’ve dealt with one of these old, wind-up sirens. It will probably take at least 20 amps. You can check with Radio Shack or similar store to try to find the necessary power supply.
