HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! Need to contact Chrysler?
Hello,
I recently had a 1996 plymouth breeze my parents had bought me to get me and my 2 yr old son around and me back and forth to nursing school. The car ran fine while I had it, and didn't give me any hint of problems. Then one day, the engine suddenly caught on fire, thank god me and my son weren't in it. The fire burned throught the dash and engine, so the car is no good whatsoever.
I later found out that there was a recall on these cars for this very reason (complaints of engine fires) and I need to know how to contact Chrysler. We bought the car from a private seller, a older lady, I don't know if it makes any difference if it was bought from a dealer or not.I really need another car, I barely had this one 6 months!!!!!
I don;t know how much help I will get, but any is GREATLY appreciated, I don't even know where to start.
Thank you

Try this link
http://www.chrysler.com/webselfservice/chrysler/index.jsp?screenName=recall&country=us&emailUrl=goToEmailForm%28%27R%27%29
Also you can call 411 and ask for Chrysler Corp customer service in Irvine, California
They may give you the ph# to Auburn Hills office like the link shows
Since I dont know what state you are in, I would also locate the equivalent to the Buerua of Automtive Repair in California and see they can assist you also
If the recall was already done then you would also need to get ahold of the previous owner and see if she had some shop work on the car and had at anytime worked on the fuel system and make sure that your state version of B.A.R. knows this so they can invstigate the car and see if they can find the cause, Above all else do not touch or try and fix the car this will not help your case, since you will have an up hill battle anyway since you are not the first owner and dont expect a new car that wont happen for sure, maybe and I mean a big maybe, salvage recovery payment, fixed back to pre damage or nothing.
Good Luck

You can contact Chrysler about it 1-800-Chrysler (or 1-800-247-9753) you can also try 1-800-992-1997. I don’t know how successful you’ll be in getting any assistance from them, but never hurts to ask and try.
Too late for should haves, but next time you’ll know to take any car you buy in to the dealer to have them check for any open recalls on the vehicle.
Owner information can be updated on the website, at the dealer, or by phone at the Chrysler customer service numbers.

I’d tell them that you and your family , friends are Dodge customers and have been for many long rewarding years now but you’re quite startled and extremely scary actual life threatening frightening terrifying horrific act a literal nightmare experience all involving a known Dodge factory emergency recall issue that involves fire.
I’d then go on to telling them that you’re a mother of a dearly cherished and truly loved child and the whole family suffered deep trauma and heartache especially knowing that your precess child and their love one her mother could of been in that know dangerously factory defective vehicle that had went up in flames while sitting parked.
Go to the Dodge web site look up when this know defect become known and when the it actually became a recall issue for that year and model.Call up customer affairs or go there and look up this recall issue , note what dates and different experiences that might be noted in all you can involving this issues.
Just all you know is truly heart felt and direct feelings within the family and friends to find out that the company that they’ve in trusted with the families personal safety and to be of good customer service oriented character to have allowed such a mistake to have not have fixed the families vehicle ages ago when the terrifying serious factory recall issue that involved actual self started literal flaming fires and such hot flames to actually burnt the vehicle down to mold and scrap molding ash metals etc.
Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way don’t give up contacting the head offices several times and keep in mind that loyal or repeating customers are rare and company’s are finding for customer approvals and sales especially. You could have a valid law suit too so check into things but I think they will offer you something especially bec you’re now without any vehicle for your family.
Just remember also that we’re all human and we can relate on that level and others.
